Jury convicts man on child porn possession

A man accused of accessing thousands of media files of child sexual exploitation has been found guilty on all seven counts.
The jury delivered a unanimous verdict this afternoon against 30 year old Daniel Rocha of Devonshire.

Daniel Rocha, 30, has been found guilty of seven counts of accessing digital child exploitation material.

The jury spent two hours deliberating and returned a unanimous verdict this afternoon.

The defendant had accessed several sexual exploitation images and video recordings of children, girls and boys as young as 5 and even younger between April 2010 and March 2015.

US Homeland security alerted the Bermuda police service that an IP address registered to the defendants home was sharing child abuse material.

Director of Public prosecution Larry Mussenden said, “This was a despicable case of child sexual abuse” and he implored the public to remain vigilant against such crimes.
