The head of the Government’s vector control programme is urging the public not to panic over reports of increased rat sightings on the island.

Vector Control manager Armel Thomas told Bermuda Broadcasting news there is no evidence that the rat population has spiralled out of control as has been reported.

He believes there are simple steps residents can take to ensure the rat situation is kept at bay.

The flopped Grand Atlantic condominium site in Warwick is set to be transformed into a condominium resort hotel thanks to a ground-breaking partnership.

And it was announced today that the property, which has long been seen as the Government's white elephant, will be operating under the prestigious Hilton brand.
